Report on the Activities of the ACH 2005 Nominating Committee
The committee was composed of:
- Chuck Bush
- Alan Galey
- Lorna Hughes (ex officio)
- Nancy Kushigian
- Steve Ramsay
- Ray Siemens (Chair)
This year's Committee charge was to provide a slate of nominees for the positions of President, Vice-President, and representatives on Executive Council (3). We operated within the parameters of the Bylaws (
http://www.ach.org/documents/ACH_Constitution_Bylaws.html#Elections) and the new-ish document “Procedures of the ACH Nominating Committee” (
http://www.ach.org/nominations/nominating_procedures.html), with two exceptions discussed and approved by Chair of the committee and the President of the society:
- The composition of the committee was not established until November 14.
- With time pressure, and complexities associated with the recusal of our President from deliberations, we did not have time to ensure that ACHNOM could see proper preparation and use.
We concluded our deliberations on December 2, and have nominated two candidates for the President and Vice-President positions each, and seven candidates for three upcoming vacancies on the Executive Council. The candidate bios will be forwarded to the society Secretary and President within several days.
The slate is as follows:
- For President: Lorna Hughes, Mark Olsen
- For Vice-President: David Hoover, Natasha Smith
- For EC: Neil Fraistat, Dot Porter, Kenneth Price, Susan Schreibman, John Walsh, Claire Warwick, Matt Zimmerman
The results of the election will be announced via HUMANIST in the spring, and will be presented at the conference meeting in Paris this July.
The committee would like to thank everyone who participated in this very important process.
